It is a sharp turn for the Buckeyes, who enter the new rankings well outside the top ten after the loss.\n\nThe result was part of a wider Week 9 collapse, with seven AP Top 25 teams losing across the country. Wisconsin offered the week's strangest subplot: fresh off beating USC and climbing into the AP Poll at No. 25, the Badgers were then blown out by Iowa, 30-0.\n\nMiami remains the lone unbeaten team that looks like a genuine national championship contender, with Georgia also climbing in the new poll. Utah and UCLA are the other undefeated teams left, though they still have to prove they belong in that same conversation. Injuries and a schedule now built around just one bye week have made roster health a bigger factor than usual, and the SEC remains tightly bunched, with half the conference within a game of reaching its championship game.\n\nThe shake-up arrives just before the first College Football Playoff rankings are released Tuesday night, which should sort out how much Saturday's chaos actually matters.","published_at":"2026-11-01T22:18:13.284490+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College Football Sunday Summary Shows Off Our Learning Curve","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/college-football-sunday-summary-shows-170039108.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"AP Top 25 predictions: Who will rise, fall and enter the new college football rankings?","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7743735/2026/11/01/ap-top-25-college-football-week-9/"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"College Football Rankings: How Far Ohio State Fell, USC Rose — Plus, 4 New Teams","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-football/rankings-ohio-state-usc-georgia-miami-notre-dame"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Tomorrow's Top 25 Today: Ohio State falls from top 10, USC reenters college football rankings after upset win","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-rankings-tomorrows-top-25-ap-poll-ohio-state-usc/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Live CFP rankings predictions: Projecting first Playoff bracket as Week 9 reshapes race","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/live-cfp-rankings-predictions-projecting-123823984.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College football live analysis: Notre Dame's wobbly resume, Texas Tech's renewed hope","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/college-football-live-analysis-notre-201330292.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College football had its fun.
