Giants' Cam Skattebo fined again for use of helmet

The NFL hit the running back with a $7,073 fine for the second time this season after a Week 7 personal foul call against the Texans.

The NFL fined Giants running back Cam Skattebo $7,073 for unnecessary roughness involving use of his helmet during New York's Week 7 overtime win over the Houston Texans. The penalty came in the first quarter when Skattebo lowered his helmet while running through safety M.J. Stewart, a 15-yard personal foul that erased a seven-yard gain. The Giants led 7-3 at the time and went on to win 27-21.

It is the second time this season the league has disciplined Skattebo for the same type of contact. He drew an identical $7,073 fine in Week 3 for illegal helmet use on a run against the Titans.

Skattebo did not hide his frustration with the call when he spoke to reporters after the Texans game. League data shows eight separate use-of-helmet infractions occurred around the league in Week 7, but Skattebo was the only player flagged for one.
