He spent the days since consulting multiple specialists before settling on this course of treatment.\n\nThe timing is rough for a Thunder team already dealing with injuries to Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace, both sidelined for extended time as of earlier this week, with the pair also at risk of missing the entire 2026-27 season. Holmgren had been averaging 12 points for Oklahoma City before the injury.\n\nWith three key rotation pieces out for the foreseeable future, Oklahoma City's depth will be tested in a way that complicates whatever plans the franchise had for defending its championship standing this season.","published_at":"2026-10-31T23:05:12.791291+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chet Holmgren sustains small patellar tendon tear; out 8-to-10 weeks","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chet-holmgren-sustains-small-patellar-011107691.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Thunder say Holmgren out 8-10 weeks after knee procedure","url":"https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/50332283/thunder-say-chet-holmgren-8-10-weeks-due-knee"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Thunder's Chet Holmgren will miss 8-10 weeks with knee injury","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7740444/2026/10/30/chet-holmgren-injury-okc-thunder/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chet Holmgren injury update: OKC Thunder star out vs. Rockets","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chet-holmgren-injury-okc-thunder-222230458.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chet Holmgren injury update: OKC Thunder star out vs. Rockets","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chet-holmgren-injury-okc-thunder-222230808.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"When is Chet Holmgren coming back?
