Philadelphia's banged-up running back carries no injury designation into Sunday night's game against Washington, but DeVonta Smith is out.
Saquon Barkley will play Sunday night against the Commanders after all. The Eagles running back sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday, which had people bracing for another absence, but he returned as a limited participant Friday and now carries no injury designation at all.
It is the latest twist in what has been a rough stretch for Barkley, who came back in Week 7 but was clearly not fully healthy. The Eagles have been one of the more injury-riddled teams in the league this season, with problems popping up on both sides of the ball.
The news is not all good, though. DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia's top receiver, has been ruled out for the matchup, leaving the passing game thinner than usual. With Barkley active and Smith sidelined, the Eagles will lean more heavily on the ground game Sunday night as they take on Washington.
