The All-American running back is expected to get a handful of carries against Arkansas after being shot in May.
Ahmad Hardy is expected to make his season debut for No. 23 Missouri this weekend against Arkansas, less than six months after being shot in May. According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Hardy will not start but will receive a "handful of carries" after returning to practice this week.
Hardy was arguably the best running back in the country last season, leading the SEC with 1,649 rushing yards while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He finished second in the conference with 16 rushing touchdowns and earned consensus All-American honors along with a spot on the All-SEC First Team.
Missouri has managed fine without him, going 5-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play this season. Jamal Roberts has filled the void at running back and currently leads the SEC in the category Hardy once dominated.
Now Hardy returns to a backfield that has moved on without him, with the Tigers looking to add his talent back into the mix as they continue their conference schedule against Arkansas.
