Green Bay and Carolina each come off lopsided defeats as they head into their Week 8 primetime matchup.
The Packers and Panthers face off in Week 8 on Thursday Night Football, and neither team is arriving in good form. Green Bay is still stinging from a 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions, a game Jordan Love nearly salvaged with 274 passing yards and two touchdowns before the Packers missed two field goals down the stretch.
Carolina's week went worse. The Panthers were blown out 43-13 by Tampa Bay, with Bryce Young throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble in the process. The Panthers defense did them no favors either, giving up 258 rushing yards in that loss.
Both teams will be looking to put those performances behind them under the Thursday night lights. Green Bay in particular figures to lean on exploiting a Carolina run defense that got gashed just days ago, while the Panthers will want more discipline out of Young after his turnover-filled outing. Neither club can afford to look sloppy again on a short week of preparation.
