That's double the $11,941 fine he received last week for wearing the same forbidden footwear against the Falcons in Week 6.\n\nWilliams has made clear he isn't backing down. He plans to keep wearing Caddix shoes, a brand with no deal with the league, and will presumably appeal this latest fine as well.\n\n\"I'm huge into trying to stay on the field,\" Williams said Wednesday. \"I'm huge into trying to be healthy. It's a rough game and things like that. So the cleats, they've been great. They've been super comfy and they've worked.\"\n\nThe math suggests this escalates if Williams keeps lacing up the Caddix shoes, with fines doubling week over week so far. For a quarterback focused on staying healthy and on the field, the cost of comfort is adding up fast, though so far it hasn't been enough to change his footwear choice.","published_at":"2026-10-30T22:50:35.094986+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"NFL fines Caleb Williams $23,882 for "unauthorized logo" on shoes in Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/nfl-fines-caleb-williams-23-212054833.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"NFL fines Caleb Williams $23,882 for \"unauthorized logo\" on shoes in Week 7","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-fines-caleb-williams-23-882-for-unauthorized-logo-on-shoes-in-week-7"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Caleb Williams plans to defy NFL: Bears QB to stick with unapproved cleat also worn by former Super Bowl MVP","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/caleb-williams-defy-nfl-stick-with-unapproved-caddix-cleat/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"“Trying to Stay on the Field”: Caleb Williams Makes Final Decision on Wearing Caddix Cleats That Got Him Into Trouble With NFL","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/trying-stay-field-caleb-williams-001050780.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams not backing down despite NFL fine, says he will continue to wear Caddix cleats","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-not-backing-down-124000874.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams fined for wearing Caddix cleats, plans to keep wearing them","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-fined-wearing-caddix-140000047.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Bears’ Caleb Williams Defies NFL Fine With Bold Stance on Controversial ‘Science-Type’ Cleats","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/bears-caleb-williams-defies-nfl-155139602.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams says he'll continue to wear unathorized cleats during games despite $12,000 fines","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/caleb-williams-says-hell-continue-to-wear-unathorized-cleats-during-games-despite-12000-fines-195540088.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Source: Bears QB Williams fined again for cleats","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50323203/bears-quarterback-caleb-williams-fined-again-cleats"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/677467b/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F9%2F79%2Fnbc_pftpm_bearsside_261029.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
