Atlanta jumped out to a 17-point first quarter lead behind Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray and Angel Reese to stay alive in the series.
The Atlanta Dream are not done yet. Facing elimination at home in a midday Game 6 after dropping Game 5 and falling behind 3-2 in the series, Atlanta flipped the script almost immediately, building a 17-point first quarter lead and never letting the Golden State Valkyries back in the game.
The same trio that has carried Atlanta all season did it again. Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray and Angel Reese led the charge, with Howard emerging as a decisive factor after a rough shooting stretch for most of the playoffs. She has found her rhythm over the last three games, following up a 19-point outing in Game 4 and a 20-point performance in Game 5 with another strong showing in Game 6.
It is a sharp turnaround from Game 5, when Reese struggled to find the basket, Kiah Stokes was knocking down threes for Golden State, and the Valkyries looked ready to close out the series. Instead, these Finals remain as unpredictable as they have been throughout, and the Dream have forced the series to continue.
