Jonathan Taylor says he hasn't asked the Colts for a trade

The Pro Bowl running back addressed trade rumors after the Colts dealt longtime teammates Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner to NFC West teams this week.

Jonathan Taylor wants to make one thing clear: he hasn't requested a trade out of Indianapolis, despite a week that saw the Colts ship off two of his longtime teammates.

The three-time Pro Bowl back spoke to reporters Thursday, a few days after Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner were both dealt to NFC West teams. With his own name now floating around the rumor mill, Taylor said he's trying to block out the noise and keep the focus on football.

"I'm always proud to wear the horseshoe," Taylor said, adding that no one in the building is "waving the white flag of surrender." He said the team's only job now is to compete and try to win games, not get distracted by roster turnover.

Still, Taylor didn't pretend he's immune to what's happening around him. He acknowledged he hasn't heard anything about his own future and can't control it, noting that Nelson and Buckner were also proud to be Colts before circumstances changed. For now, Taylor says he's staying put, by choice if nothing else.
