Starter Ziaire Williams is also out with left foot soreness. Cameron Carr remains sidelined with a right oblique strain, and Adou Thiero is unavailable as the team manages a left knee injury. That leaves Los Angeles thin heading into a divisional game.\n\nThe Clippers have their own issues, with Rui Hachimura out due to a quad injury. With both teams missing key pieces, Wednesday's game becomes more of a depth test than a showcase of star power.","published_at":"2026-10-28T22:35:19.308693+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Doncic out against Clippers with back tightness","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-doncic-against-clippers-back-203330208.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Lakers superstar out against Clippers in second night of back-to-back","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/28/sports/lakers-superstar-out-against-clippers/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Lakers rule out NBA scoring leader Doncic, Williams vs. Clippers","url":"https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/50310776/lakers-rule-luka-doncic-ziaire-williams-vs-clippers"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lakers suffer first loss of season at hands of Trail Blazers","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lakers-suffer-first-loss-season-061244144.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Doncic’s defensive effort in Lakers-Blazers grabs Reggie Miller’s attention","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-doncic-defensive-effort-lakers-063309107.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘Damian Lillard Owns the Lakers,’ ‘Defense Is Horrible’ — NBA World Reacts As Trail Blazers Spoil Luka Dončić’s 41-Point Night, Hand LA 1st Loss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/damian-lillard-owns-lakers-defense-093247710.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Doncic has already passed LeBron James in surprising Lakers history","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-doncic-already-passed-lebron-142325376.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lakers Lose Luka Doncic for Clippers Game on Second Night of Back-to-Back","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lakers-lose-luka-doncic-clippers-205251980.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Doncic injury will test Lakers roster in clash vs Clippers tonight","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-doncic-injury-test-lakers-205123745.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Doncic sitting out Lakers' visit to Clippers with back tightness","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-doncic-sitting-lakers-visit-205032097.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Luka Dončić is out tonight for the Lakers with back …","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luka-don-tonight-lakers-back-211452986.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Why is Luka Doncic not playing tonight vs. Clippers?
