Misiorowski gets the ball for Brewers in World Series Game 5

Milwaukee leads the series 3-1 after Tampa Bay forced a Game 5 with a 4-3, 12-inning win on Tuesday.

The Brewers hand the ball to Jacob Misiorowski on Wednesday with a chance to clinch the franchise's first World Series title. Milwaukee holds a 3-1 series lead over Tampa Bay after the Rays avoided the sweep with a 4-3 win in 12 innings on Tuesday. The game is at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Misiorowski, 24, already has a World Series start under his belt this October. He won the series opener, holding the Rays to one run over five innings. This is new territory for him though, taking the mound with a chance to actually finish off a championship rather than just keep his team in it.

The bigger question hanging over his outing is whether he can rediscover the form that made him one of the most electric arms in baseball during the summer. Reports suggest his slider hasn't had the same bite in the playoffs, and getting that pitch back could be the difference between cruising through the Rays' lineup and another grind-it-out start.

A win puts Milwaukee in the record books. A loss would extend the series.
