Tucker had been out of the league since being released by the Baltimore Ravens in May 2025, where he spent 13 seasons and earned seven Pro Bowl selections.\n\nChiefs kicker Harrison Butker has struggled over the last two seasons, missing a pair of kicks in Sunday's loss in Seattle to the Seahawks. He remained on the active roster as of Wednesday, so the Tucker signing could simply be about adding competition rather than an immediate replacement.\n\nCoach Andy Reid was expected to address the move at his weekly news conference later Wednesday. Under the league's collective bargaining agreement, Tucker is eligible to sign a practice squad deal worth between $18,350 and $22,850 per week, with a prorated portion of that pay if he is elevated to the active roster.","published_at":"2026-10-28T16:20:49.432347+00:00","source_count":7,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Justin Tucker joining the Chiefs' practice squad after 10-game suspension last year, AP source says","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/justin-tucker-joining-chiefs-practice-151705747.html"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Chiefs Reportedly Add Former Ravens Controversial Star Justin Tucker","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/chiefs-sign-justin-tucker-allegations-harrison-butker-stats-ravens"},{"outlet":"Front Office Sports","publisher":"Front Office Sports","title":"Chiefs Bring In Justin Tucker As Their $25.6M Kicker Struggles","url":"https://frontofficesports.com/article/chiefs-bring-in-justin-tucker-as-their-25-6m-kicker-struggles/"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Chiefs sign former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker after Harrison Butker struggles","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/chiefs-sign-former-ravens-kicker-justin-tucker/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Sources: Chiefs sign former Ravens kicker Tucker to practice squad","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50307506/sources-chiefs-sign-justin-tucker-practice-squad"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Chiefs to sign kicker Justin Tucker to practice squad: Source","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7730537/2026/10/28/justin-tucker-chiefs-ravens-practice-squad/"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Chiefs to sign Justin Tucker to their practice squad","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/chiefs-to-sign-justin-tucker-to-their-practice-squad"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs to sign Justin Tucker to their practice squad","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chiefs-sign-justin-tucker-practice-125903150.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs reportedly sign Justin Tucker to practice squad after Harrison Butker missed two field goals in Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/breaking-news/article/chiefs-reportedly-sign-justin-tucker-to-practice-squad-after-harrison-butker-missed-two-field-goals-in-week-7-125724302.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs sign Justin Tucker to practice squad as Harrison Butker struggles","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chiefs-sign-justin-tucker-practice-131006298.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs sign veteran kicker Justin Tucker: What to know","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chiefs-sign-veteran-kicker-justin-130955443.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs reportedly sign Justin Tucker to practice squad after Harrison Butker misses two field goals in Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/breaking-news/article/chiefs-reportedly-sign-justin-tucker-to-practice-squad-after-harrison-butker-misses-two-field-goals-in-week-7-133034101.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kansas City Chiefs to sign kicker Justin Tucker to practice squad","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/kansas-city-chiefs-sign-kicker-135101279.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Why did the Kansas City Chiefs sign Justin Tucker?","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/why-did-kansas-city-chiefs-144818582.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chiefs Bring In Justin Tucker As Their $25.6M Kicker Struggles","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chiefs-bring-justin-tucker-25-150141157.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"What to know about the Chiefs signing Justin Tucker to the practice squad","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/know-chiefs-signing-justin-tucker-153000025.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://frontofficesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/2021-09-19T235123Z_1427558824_MT1USATODAY16789910_RTRMADP_3_NFL-KANSAS-CITY-CHIEFS-AT-BALTIMORE-RAVENS-scaled-e1793199155454.jpg?quality=80&w=1024","credit":"Front Office Sports","width":1024},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
