The charges stem from allegedly threatening communications directed at a police officer who had been involved in his arrest in 2025.\n\nHead coach Kalen DeBoer dismissed Kirkpatrick from the program on Tuesday, saying the move came after the staff gathered more information on the situation. Kirkpatrick is no longer with the team.\n\nThe incident adds to a week of distraction for Alabama, which is currently on its bye. The school has not detailed further disciplinary or legal steps beyond the dismissal.","published_at":"2026-10-28T21:48:43.212133+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Alabama Dismisses Defensive Back After Reported Latest Arrest","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/alabama-dismisses-defensive-back-reported-005527317.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Alabama DB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. charged with doxing, harassing police officer","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7730210/2026/10/27/dre-kirkpatrick-jr-alabama-charges/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Suspended Alabama DB Kirkpatrick allegedly threatened officer from '25 arrest","url":"https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50298800/alabama-kirkpatrick-charged-allegedly-threatening-officer"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Details revealed on Alabama football DB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.arrest","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/details-revealed-alabama-football-db-155125420.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. facing two misdemeanors for allegedly contacting officer who pulled him over in 2025","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/alabama-cb-dre-kirkpatrick-jr-facing-two-misdemeanors-for-allegedly-contacting-officer-who-pulled-him-over-in-2025-183337693.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kalen DeBoer: Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. no longer part of Alabama football","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/kalen-deboer-dre-kirkpatrick-jr-210922958.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. kicked off Alabama football after facing charges for allegedly threatening officer","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dre-kirkpatrick-jr-kicked-off-230840621.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Alabama dismisses CB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after arrest for doxxing, harassing police officer","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/alabama-dismisses-cb-dre-kirkpatrick-002026336.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Alabama dismisses CB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after arrest for doxxing, harassing police officer","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/alabama-dismisses-cb-dre-kirkpatrick-jr-after-arrest-for-doxxing-harassing-police-officer"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College Football Player and Son of Former NFLer Kicked Off Team After Being Accused of Harassing Cop Online","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/college-football-player-son-former-162958137.html"}],"image":null,"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
