Tampa Bay scored five straight baserunners in extras to beat Milwaukee 4-3 and avoid a sweep, trailing the series 3-1.
The Rays are still breathing. Tampa Bay beat Milwaukee 4-3 in 12 innings on Tuesday night, snapping the Brewers' eight-game postseason winning streak and forcing a Game 5 of the World Series.
The two teams traded runs through the middle innings before Milwaukee grabbed a lead in the top of the 12th, putting the Brewers one out away from the franchise's first championship. The Rays had other plans, sending five consecutive batters aboard in the bottom half to storm back and steal the win.
It's only the 11th time a team has forced a Game 5 after trailing a best-of-seven series 3-0, and the Rays now get at least one more chance to extend it further. Game 5 is Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field, with Jacob Misiorowski starting for Milwaukee. Tampa Bay has not named a starter.
Chandler Simpson had three hits in Game 4, pushing him to 6 for 16 in the series. A Rays win sends things to Game 6 on Friday, Oct. 30, back at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
