The former North Carolina coach will debut as a studio and game analyst on Thursday, Nov. 5, covering Big East and Big 12 matchups.
Hubert Davis has a new job in TV, not on the sideline. TNT Sports announced a multi-year deal signing him as a studio and game analyst for its men's college basketball coverage starting with the 2026-27 season.
Davis will debut at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, when the pregame show on truTV and HBO Max anchors a three-game slate of Big East and Big 12 matchups. He joins a studio lineup that includes Tim Doyle, Dalen Cuff and Seth Davis, with the network's coverage centered largely on those two conferences.
The hire marks a return to public life for Davis after his exit from North Carolina. He was fired in April, following a season that ended with the Tar Heels blowing a 19-point lead against VCU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, a collapse that completed the largest comeback in the history of that round and sent North Carolina home in the Round of 64 for the second straight year.
Davis spent 14 seasons in Chapel Hill, returning in 2012 as an assistant under Roy Williams before taking over as head coach, where he went 125-54. Before that stretch, he worked seven years as an ESPN analyst. He also played at UNC as a sharpshooter under Dean Smith.
