He is scheduled to officially change his plea at a hearing on Dec. 9 in Brooklyn.\n\nBeasley was arrested earlier this summer and indicted in June alongside former NBA veteran Ed Davis, his one-time Minnesota Timberwolves teammate. Prosecutors accused the two of working together to manipulate Beasley's performance in four games during the 2023-24 season. At the time, Beasley was playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, while Davis was out of the league.\n\nAccording to the allegations, Beasley owed millions of dollars in gambling debt, which prompted Davis to loan him money. The scheme centered on using that financial arrangement to influence Beasley's on-court performance in the targeted games.\n\nThe case adds Beasley's name to a growing list of current and former NBA figures entangled in federal sports betting investigations. More details are expected to emerge when Beasley formally enters his plea next month.","published_at":"2026-10-27T22:34:06.889443+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Ex-NBA player Beasley agrees to plead guilty in federal sports betting case","url":"https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/50301040/malik-beasley-agrees-plead-guilty-sports-betting-case"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Ex-NBA guard Malik Beasley to plead guilty after involvement in gambling scheme","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/ex-nba-guard-malik-beasley-to-plead-guilty-after-involvement-in-gambling-scheme-201748994.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Malik Beasley agrees to plead guilty for involvement in NBA gambling ring","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7730332/2026/10/27/malik-beasley-guilty-plea-illegal-sports-gambling-nba/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘Threw It All Away to Make Extra Pennies,’ ‘It’s Over’ – NBA Fans React as Malik Beasley Is Set to Agree Plea Deal In Gambling Scandal","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/threw-away-extra-pennies-over-213605851.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Former NBA star Malik Beasley set to enter guilty plea with league for betting scandal","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/former-nba-star-malik-beasley-221149607.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Ex-NBA Player Malik Beasley to Plead Guilty in Federal Sports Betting Case","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/ex-nba-player-malik-beasley-004845441.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://a4.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2026%2F0701%2Fr1683045_1024x576_16%2D9.jpg","credit":"ESPN","width":1024},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
