Western Kentucky has rebounded from a 1-4 start while Delaware tries to build on snapping a three-game losing streak.
Western Kentucky and Delaware meet Tuesday night on CBS Sports Network in a Conference USA game that matters more than a midweek matchup usually does.
The Hilltoppers were supposed to be one of the league's stronger teams this season, but a 1-4 start, including a loss to New Mexico State, put that idea on hold. Wins over Sam Houston and Missouri State, teams Yahoo Sports notes "aren't anything special," got Western Kentucky back into contention. The Hilltoppers still have a difficult stretch ahead, with games at Middle Tennessee, at Jacksonville State and at Liberty before closing against Kennesaw State, which is part of why this one counts as a must-win.
Delaware arrives having stopped its own three-game losing streak with a 61-38 win over Missouri State. At 1-2 in conference play, the Blue Hens are in a tight spot but not out of the race. They also have a tough slate coming, with three road games in their next four, starting with Kennesaw State after this one.
Western Kentucky has beaten Delaware before, according to Yahoo Sports, though the source does not specify when.
