The Buffalo Bills (5-1) lead the pack, with Josh Allen drawing an A grade for his quarterback play and general reputation as someone who may not be entirely human on a football field.\n\nBehind them, the usual churn of winners and losers through the middle of the pack, with injuries reshaping several rosters and separating the contenders from everyone still figuring things out.\n\nThe bigger story this week is Cleveland. The Browns' climb up the rankings has reached the point where outlets are no longer treating it as a fluke, with one power rankings package built specifically around acknowledging that an unlikely turnaround is happening in front of everyone. With the trade deadline just weeks away, expect the league's dynamics to keep shifting as teams look at rosters like the Bills' and the Browns' and decide whether to buy in or blow it up.\n\nNo single definitive order emerged across the board, but the throughline is consistent: Buffalo is the class of the league right now, and Cleveland is the team nobody saw coming.","published_at":"2026-10-27T22:20:29.055403+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 8 NFL Power Rankings: Grading Each Team’s Quarterback Situation","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/week-8-nfl-power-rankings-134840213.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"NFL Power Rankings for Week 8: The unlikely Browns rise can no longer be ignored","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/27/sports/nfl-power-rankings-for-week-8-unlikely-browns-rise-cant-be-ignored/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Week 8 Power Rankings: Updated 1-32 poll, plus the best offseason addition for every roster","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50288293/nfl-power-rankings-week-8-teams-best-offseason-additions"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"NFL Week 8 Power Rankings: You Decide","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/interactive/nfl-power-rankings-weekly-you-decide/week-8/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/article/week-8-fantasy-football-rankings-170935843.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 8 Fantasy Football TE Rankings","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/article/week-8-fantasy-football-te-rankings-170351542.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"NFL Week 8 power rankings: Detroit Lions on the rise following victory over Packers","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/nfl-week-8-power-rankings-181700391.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/ab283c35e3bb81a1df256e9056746b7acff0f116f6daabdb4615fe6fea777e72/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fsb_nation_articles_115%2F569c6d036d5382f97ed65b15d32d85b6.jpg","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
