Williams' career night powers Cowboys past Eagles 38-21

Dak Prescott added three touchdown passes as Dallas closed the game strong to drop Philadelphia to 2-5.

The Cowboys finally remembered they have a running game, and it cost the Eagles a Monday night beating. Javonte Williams carried 25 times for a career-high 155 yards and sealed it with a fourth quarter touchdown as Dallas rolled to a 38-21 road win.

Williams had been stuck at 23 carries total across Weeks 5 and 6 during back-to-back Cowboys losses, but the shift toward feeding him paid off immediately. Tyler Goodson chipped in with 11 carries of his own, giving Dallas an offensive balance that had been missing. Through the air, Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes, connecting with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and the Cowboys closed out the win by scoring late.

The result drops Philadelphia to 2-5 on the season, a rough stretch for a team that was expected to contend. For Dallas, it is a reminder that leaning on the ground game can take pressure off Prescott and open things up through the air. Williams said it was good to give the coaching staff confidence to keep calling his number, and after a performance like this, there is little reason for that to change.
