Oregon coach Dan Lanning confirmed Monday night that the quarterback, who entered the year as one of the top prospects for the 2027 NFL Draft, will not return from the concussion he suffered on a late hit against USC on September 26.\n\nMoore had missed the past three games while in the concussion protocol. He resumed practicing earlier this month but never got cleared to play again, and Lanning's announcement closes the door on any in-season comeback.\n\nThe injury complicates what looked like a straightforward decision a few months ago. Moore turned down entering the 2026 NFL Draft to come back to Oregon for another run, betting that a strong season would boost his stock. He has one more year of college eligibility remaining, which leaves open the possibility of returning to the Ducks in 2027 rather than declaring for the draft as originally expected.\n\nFor now, scouts are left evaluating Moore off tape from before the injury, with his draft timeline and exact status heading into next year still unsettled.","published_at":"2026-10-27T16:07:59.870391+00:00","source_count":7,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘Ruined his career’ – Fans let down with 2027 NFL Draft prospect Dante Moore’s season-ending injury","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/ruined-career-fans-let-down-093302424.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"How will teams evaluate Oregon QB Dante Moore as a potential 2027 NFL Draft prospect?","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7728358/2026/10/27/dante-moore-injury-nfl-draft-2027/"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore won't return this season from his concussion","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/oregon-qb-dante-moore-wont-return-this-season-from-his-concussion"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Dante Moore not expected back this season for Oregon — leaving NFL Draft status uncertain","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/27/sports/dante-moore-not-expected-back-this-season-for-oregon-leaving-nfl-draft-status-uncertain/"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore won't return this season after concussion, Dan Lanning confirms","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/dante-moore-injury-oregon-wont-return-2026-season/"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore Expected To Miss Rest Of 2026 Season","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-football/oregon-qb-dante-moore-expected-miss-rest-2026-season"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Oregon QB Moore not expected to return this season, Lanning says","url":"https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50293112/oregon-ducks-qb-dante-moore-not-expected-return-season"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"BREAKING: Oregon QB Dante Moore will not return to field in 2026","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/breaking-oregon-qb-dante-moore-015242513.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore won't play rest of 2026 season after suffering concussion vs. USC","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/oregon-qb-dante-moore-wont-play-rest-of-2026-season-after-suffering-concussion-vs-usc-015817685.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore out for season in latest hit for Ducks","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/oregon-qb-dante-moore-season-021254287.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore won't play rest of 2026 season following concussion vs. USC","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/oregon-qb-dante-moore-wont-play-rest-of-2026-season-following-concussion-vs-usc-021252239.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Oregon QB Dante Moore out for rest of season following concussion","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7728278/2026/10/26/oregon-qb-dante-moore-out-for-season-concussion/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon quarterback Dante Moore not expected to return this season, coach Dan Lanning says","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/oregon-quarterback-dante-moore-not-022016400.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dante Moore not anticipated to make Oregon football return in 2026","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dante-moore-not-anticipated-oregon-022757473.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dante Moore to the NFL?
