ESPN, which carries Monday Night Football, will also broadcast the Super Bowl itself.\n\nThe choice is notable mainly because Jay-Z has spent the last seven years helping select who gets the gig in the first place. His company, Roc Nation, has partnered with the NFL on halftime show selections, giving him a direct say in who takes the stage for the league's biggest game. This time around, he picked himself.\n\nReports last week suggested Jay-Z was the frontrunner, with Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber also having been in consideration. Given Roc Nation's role in the process, the outcome was not exactly a surprise.\n\nSuper Bowl LXI will be played Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.","published_at":"2026-10-27T16:07:59.870391+00:00","source_count":7,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jay-Z to headline Super Bowl LXI halftime show at SoFi Stadium, NFL announces","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/jay-z-to-headline-super-bowl-lxi-halftime-show-at-sofi-stadium-nfl-announces-015111926.html"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Jay-Z To Headline Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show At SoFi Stadium","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/who-is-super-bowl-lxi-haltime-show-performer-jay-z"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Jay-Z, organizer of Super Bowl headliners, to lead halftime show himself","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7685074/2026/10/26/super-bowl-halftime-show-jay-z-rapper/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Jay-Z to headline Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/26/sports/jay-z-officially-announced-as-super-bowl-lxi-halftime-performer/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Super Bowl 61 halftime show details: Jay-Z named headline performer for 2027 title game in Los Angeles","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/super-bowl-61-halftime-show-015333603.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Jay-Z to headline Super Bowl LXI halftime show","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50293241/jay-z-headline-super-bowl-lxi-half-show"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"NFL announces Jay-Z as the Super Bowl LXI halftime act","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-announces-jay-z-as-the-super-bowl-lxi-halftime-act"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jay-Z joins illustrious list of Super Bowl halftime show performers","url":"https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/music/articles/jay-z-joins-illustrious-list-015632228.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"NFL announces Jay-Z as the Super Bowl LXI halftime act","url":"https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/music/articles/nfl-announces-jay-z-super-020649507.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"2027 Super Bowl headliner announced: Jay-Z picks himself to perform for Super Bowl LXI","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2027-super-bowl-headliner-announced-jay-z-super-bowl-lxi/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show in 2027","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jay-z-headline-super-bowl-030617006.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jay-Z to headline Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium","url":"https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/music/articles/jay-z-headline-super-bowl-021159381.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jay-Z headlining Super Bowl Halftime Show was a long time coming, says Roger Goodell","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jay-z-headlining-super-bowl-124706076.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/1039cf4b8774d395bc7f34bf5836d56543d58616791fa4a9bd29bd44d4a755f9/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fd29szjachogqwa.cloudfront.net%2Fimages%2F2026-10%2Fa363eede-8197-4c1a-8310-02632398154f","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
