It was Baylor's first loss to the Jayhawks since 2007, and it followed a 17-6 home loss to TCU that had snapped a four-game winning streak. Aranda went 40-40 over six and a half seasons in Waco, with his best year coming in 2021.\n\nGriffin, who starred at Baylor before a pro career marked by injuries, has emerged as one of the most prominent names already linked to the vacancy. He has spoken with the school's athletic director about the opening, signaling his interest is more than a passing comment.\n\nBaylor now faces a search for its next coach with Griffin putting himself forward as a candidate, lack of coaching experience notwithstanding. It is unclear who else the school is considering or when a decision might come.","published_at":"2026-10-27T21:48:13.498377+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Robert Griffin III ‘100 percent’ interested in Baylor job days after coach’s firing","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/27/sports/rg3-100-percent-interested-in-baylor-job-days-after-coachs-firing/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘I would 100 percent be interested’: Robert Griffin III wants to be Baylor’s next head coach despite no coaching experience","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/100-percent-interested-robert-griffin-154330558.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"RG3 '100 percent' interested in Baylor coaching job, has talked with AD","url":"https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50292059/robert-griffin-iii-says-wants-become-baylor-coach"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Robert Griffin III would '100% be interested' in filling Baylor's head coaching vacancy","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/robert-griffin-iii-baylor-coaching-vacancy/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Robert Griffin III says he wants Baylor job, but offers alternative coaching candidates","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/robert-griffin-iii-says-wants-170637746.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Baylor football coach Robert Griffin III?
