The 33-year-old beat out Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe for the award, capping a season in which he scored 73 goals in 65 matches for Bayern Munich and England.\n\nKane delivered an emotional acceptance speech at the London Palladium, thanking family, teammates and coaches past and present while holding back tears. It was a fitting coda to a year that saw him win the German league and cup double with Bayern, though his club's Champions League run ended in the semi-finals against eventual winners PSG.\n\nOn the international stage, Kane captained England to the World Cup semi-finals before the team suffered a loss there. The striker spent 19 years at Tottenham before his 2023 move to Bayern Munich, and this award marks the first Ballon d'Or of his career after years as one of the game's most prolific scorers.","published_at":"2026-10-27T22:34:06.889443+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Harry Kane’s emotional acceptance speech in full after winning Ballon d’Or","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/harry-kane-emotional-acceptance-speech-234204369.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Kane beats Mbappé, Yamal to win Ballon d'Or, England's 1st in 25 years","url":"https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/50236983/harry-kane-2026-ballon-dor-kylian-mbappe-lamine-yamal"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Harry Kane wins men's Ballon d'Or after excellent season for Bayern Munich, England","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7710586/2026/10/26/harry-kane-ballon-dor-winner-2026/"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Harry Kane Becomes First English Player To Win Ballon d'Or In 25 Years","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/harry-kane-becomes-first-english-player-win-ballon-dor-25-years"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"England star Harry Kane wins first Ballon d'Or","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/england-star-harry-kane-wins-225112485.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Harry Kane crowned first English Ballon d’Or winner in 25 years","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/harry-kane-crowned-first-english-230337474.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Harry Kane wins men's Ballon d'Or","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/harry-kane-wins-mens-ballon-230802518.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"📲 Harry Walking Stick does it: fans react to Kane’s Ballon d’Or win","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/harry-walking-stick-does-fans-232100406.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kane beats Yamal and Mbappe to taste Ballon d'Or glory","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/kane-beats-yamal-mbappe-taste-231854414.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kane ends England's 25-year Ballon d'Or wait -
