NBA signs on with Kalshi and Polymarket as preferred prediction markets

The league also struck a deal with a federal regulator and expanded its DraftKings partnership to include prediction markets.

The NBA announced Monday it is partnering with prediction markets Kalshi and Polymarket, naming both as the league's "preferred prediction market partners." The agreements also include a deal with a federal agency tasked with regulating those exchanges.

The league says the arrangement provides "significant integrity protections for NBA-related markets," including limits on what can be offered on the exchanges, transparency around suspicious user activity, and a ban on league and team personnel trading on markets tied to league events. Kalshi and Polymarket will also carry "information-sharing obligations relating to investigations and suspicious trading," according to the NBA.

The deal gives Kalshi and Polymarket rights to use NBA intellectual property, including in their apps and marketing materials, and both companies will receive official league data through Sportradar, the NBA's data distribution partner. The WNBA is not automatically covered under the commercial agreement; prediction-market platforms would need separate deals for WNBA rights and IP.

The NBA is also expanding its existing partnership with DraftKings to include a prediction-market offering. The league has previously used similar safeguards with its sportsbook partners and has pointed to cases where that system flagged problems.
