The catch: nobody knows yet where or when it will actually be played.\n\nState Farm Arena, where the Dream have hosted all five of their home playoff games this postseason, is already booked that day for a game between the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers. That leaves the WNBA scrambling to sort out a scheduling conflict with the Finals on the line.\n\nA Dream spokesperson told Front Office Sports that, barring a schedule change from the league, the team will instead host Game 6 at Gateway Center Arena, which seats 3,500 compared to State Farm's 17,000. The team says it is waiting on the league to make a final call. One source described the situation as \"status quo\" for now, while another confirmed the league has not yet decided on scheduling or venue.\n\nIt is an awkward problem for a league riding high on a Finals that has gone the distance, and it leaves fans uncertain whether they will be watching from a massive arena or a much smaller room. A decision from the WNBA is expected before Game 6 tips off.","published_at":"2026-10-25T21:34:33.259650+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Hawks’ game vs. Cavaliers throws WNBA Finals Game 6 venue into question","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/hawks-game-vs-cavaliers-throws-205321636.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Dream scrambling with date, arena up in the air for WNBA Finals Game 6","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/25/sports/dream-scrambling-with-date-arena-up-in-the-air-for-wnba-finals-game-6/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Scheduling nightmare: Dream's Finals venue in doubt for Game 6","url":"https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/50278436/place-unclear-game-6-valkyries-dream-wnba-finals"},{"outlet":"Front Office Sports","publisher":"Front Office Sports","title":"Site for Game 6 of WNBA Finals Still Up in Air","url":"https://frontofficesports.com/article/wnba-finals-schedule-game-6-arena/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Hawks CEO admits Dream’s WNBA Finals Game 6 is still not scheduled for State Farm Arena","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/hawks-ceo-admits-dream-wnba-110000759.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Site for Game 6 of WNBA Finals Still Up in Air","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/game-6-wnba-finals-still-171455727.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘WNBA has some problem solving to do’: WNBA faces a major problem before Game 6","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/wnba-problem-solving-wnba-faces-181226798.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"WNBA Finals: League reportedly unsure where Game 6 will be held due to fan demand, scheduling complications","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/wnba/breaking-news/article/wnba-finals-league-reportedly-unsure-where-game-6-will-be-held-due-to-fan-demand-scheduling-complications-183649538.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/75cf167576e94a35423c57022a74c2124e29b5505474fb8207309ce86afa2fab/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fclutchpoints_articles_939%2F687dca4c5d7a14cd47826f421e1634d0.jpg","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
