Oddsmakers and at least one model have the Longhorns as 3.5-point favorites on their home field, setting up a test for a Rebels team looking to pull off a road upset.\n\nThe game is part of a loaded Week 8 slate that also includes Indiana hosting Michigan and Houston facing Utah. It comes on the heels of an upset-heavy Week 7, which has left handicappers and fans alike bracing for more unpredictability this time around.\n\nFor Texas, the matchup is another chance to prove itself against quality conference competition as the season moves into its second half. Ole Miss, meanwhile, will try to use the spread as motivation, with the three-and-a-half-point line suggesting oddsmakers see this one as competitive rather than a blowout.\n\nKickoff details and broadcast information are being finalized as part of the week's coverage, with live updates expected throughout the game.","published_at":"2026-10-24T22:18:54.836194+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Ole Miss vs. Texas live updates: Predictions, how to watch and latest from Week 8 college football game","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/ole-miss-vs-texas-live-updates-college-football-score-result/v0lp0NuSNVIT/"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"College football score predictions for Week 8, 2026: Model backs Texas (-3.5) against Ole Miss","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/betting/news/college-football-score-predictions-top-picks-best-bets-for-week-8-2026/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College football Week 8 games, schedule, how to watch: Ole Miss vs. Texas, Houston vs. Utah and more","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/live/college-football-week-8-live-updates-scores-indiana-michigan-ole-miss-texas-houston-utah-and-more-140152988.html"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Where to watch Texas vs. Ole Miss today: Channel, live stream, time, schedule for Longhorns vs. Rebels","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/where-watch-texas-vs-ole-063002700.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Ole Miss vs. Texas: How to watch tonight's NCAA college football game, where to stream and more","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/ole-miss-vs-texas-how-to-watch-tonights-ncaa-college-football-game-where-to-stream-and-more-104500802.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://theathletic-media-production.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/v0lp0NuSNVIT_WO14ld9pvlOh_1440x960.jpg","credit":"The Athletic","width":1440},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
