The league shut down NFL House and a pop-up shop in Saint-Denis, but the Sunday game between Pittsburgh and New Orleans is still set to kick off.
The NFL closed its "NFL House" fan hub in Paris on Saturday as the city braced for another round of mass protests ahead of the league's first regular-season game in France. The league cited "potential accessibility issues" in notifying fans through its OnePass app, a day after it had already shut down its city-center pop-up shop for the same reason.
The disruptions spread beyond the league's own operations. The Saints postponed their fan gathering, Saints House, until Sunday, and the Steelers had already canceled their own Steelers House event at a Bastille neighborhood bar earlier in the week. Paris braced for a heavy police presence, with storefronts boarded up around the city as officials anticipated more street demonstrations.
Despite all the scrambling around fan events, the game itself remains on track. The Steelers and Saints are set to kick off Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET in Saint-Denis, with the NFL holding firm on playing the matchup as scheduled regardless of the unrest in the city.
