The team has fired general manager Amber Cox, who also held the chief operating officer title, according to multiple sources who spoke to The Athletic on condition of anonymity. The move lands the same day team president Kelly Krauskopf announced she is stepping down, a decision she made before the end of the 2026 regular season.\n\nKrauskopf's departure closes out a run with Pacers Sports & Entertainment that began in 1999, a year ahead of the Fever's inaugural 2000 season. She returned to the president role in 2024 after a stint with the Pacers' front office that started in 2018, and she oversaw a stretch in which the Fever made the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons.\n\nThe shakeup follows a disappointing first round playoff exit for a Fever team built around Caitlin Clark. It arrives at an awkward moment for the franchise, with co-star Kelsey Mitchell set to become an unrestricted free agent and Indiana facing decisions about how to build a championship-caliber roster around Clark. Krauskopf said it was an honor to help build the organization, though her full statement was not complete in available reporting.","published_at":"2026-10-23T21:33:45.991871+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Indiana Fever fire general manager Amber Cox amid front office shakeup","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/indiana-fever-fire-general-manager-211605674.html"},{"outlet":"SB Nation","publisher":"SB Nation","title":"Indiana Fever five general manager Amber Cox amid front office shakeup","url":"https://www.sbnation.com/womens-sports/1133463/indiana-fever-amber-cox-general-manager-fire-front-office"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Fever team president resigns with franchise under fire for ‘simmering disquiet’","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/23/sports/fever-team-president-resigns-with-franchise-under-fire-for-simmering-disquiet/"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Fever president Kelly Krauskopf steps down: What move means as Indiana faces critical offseason decisions","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/wnba/news/fever-president-kelly-krauskopf-steps-down-caitlin-clark-kelsey-mitchell/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Fever president Krauskopf steps down after 2nd stint with team","url":"https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/50258144/fever-president-kelly-krauskopf-steps-2nd-stint"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fever president steps down after career that saw franchise’s start, NBA pioneer.
