Prescott and CeeDee Lamb insist the 2-4 Cowboys can still turn things around ahead of a Monday night date with the Eagles.
The Cowboys are 2-4 and the noise around them is loud, which Dak Prescott says is just how it goes when you play for Dallas. Speaking with Front Office Sports' Baker Machado, Prescott brushed off the mounting scrutiny on the team and coach Brian Schottenheimer, saying "that's the territory" and "you can't ask for the rain and be mad about the mud."
The pressure has built since the summer, when Prescott declared it "Super Bowl or bust" for Dallas, a line that invited plenty of attention once the season started slowly. Schottenheimer has made similar championship-level declarations, and owner Jerry Jones has never shied from a microphone, so expectations in Dallas rarely stay quiet for long.
Prescott, 33, was a fourth-round pick in 2016 and won Rookie of the Year, but his Cowboys tenure has produced just two playoff wins and no trips past the divisional round. Dallas has now dropped back-to-back games heading into a key Monday Night Football matchup against the division-rival Eagles. Despite the rocky start, Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb both maintain there is still time for the Cowboys to right the ship this season.
