Angelique Kidjo becomes first African musician to get Hollywood star
Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo, a five-time Grammy winner, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, becoming the first Black African honored on the landmark. The ceremony took place in Los Angeles and drew film and music industry figures. Kidjo's career spans more than 40 years and 18 albums, and her star is the 2,853rd placed on the sidewalk.
