Interior investigating vandalism at WWII Memorial

The World War II Memorial on the National Mall was vandalized with graffiti and soap bubbles filling its fountain, prompting a federal investigation and criminal charges against a suspect. U.S. Park Police and the Interior Department investigated the incident, and U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro announced felony charges against a woman identified as Melissa L. Farris. President Trump publicly condemned the vandalism and said authorities were pursuing those responsible. The incident follows earlier vandalism this year at the nearby Reflecting Pool on the National Mall.
