'Not an infringement on freedom of expression': French minister defends expulsion of Russian pundit

France's Interior Ministry ordered Russian media commentator Xenia Fedorova to leave the country, amid accusations she spread Kremlin propaganda through French television and radio ahead of next year's presidential election. Fedorova, former head of RT France, had gone on to appear on Vincent Bollore-owned outlets including CNews and Europe 1, and writes for Le Journal du Dimanche. Her lawyer said she would immediately appeal the order, and her employers called the expulsion a serious infringement on freedom of expression. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the measure was not an infringement on freedom of expression, while President Emmanuel Macron has previously said Fedorova is not a journalist.
