Carly Simon reveals Parkinson's diagnosis

Singer-songwriter Carly Simon, 83, announced she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, describing it as an unpredictable condition she is learning to live with. She said the diagnosis followed worsening mobility problems after three joint replacement surgeries, confirmed by an extensive evaluation at the Mayo Clinic. Simon also disclosed she recently had surgery to remove a cancerous growth (basal cell carcinoma) on her face, which affected her appearance and made her more self-conscious in public. Despite her health issues, she said she has continued working and announced a new album, Comes in Waves, due out in August 2026.
