A Learjet 60 traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas crashed into a Florida neighborhood on Sunday, killing all nine people aboard. BBC News reported the crash happened near Cresthaven, some nine miles from Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump's resort in Palm Beach County, around 12:50 EST. The Daily Wire placed the crash in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, around eight miles southwest of the Mar-a-Lago estate, and reported the jet went down around 1:00 p.m. ET after hitting trees and power lines.
Air traffic control audio captured the plane's final moments. BBC News reported that about 35 seconds after an initial mayday announcement, the last remark from the cockpit was "we're out of time." The Daily Wire quoted the same final transmission as chilling, citing the cockpit saying, "Holy f*ck, we're out of time!"1
Nine people died in the crash, with no injuries reported on the ground. The New York Times reported the dead included two young children and a 20-year-old co-pilot, Nathalia Filgueiras, who received her pilot's license three years ago, when she was still a teenager. The Daily Wire identified her as Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, reporting that she earned her private pilot's license at just 17 years old and citing confirmation from her mother and stepfather to the New York Post that she was the co-pilot of the Learjet 60 on the flight from Austin to the Bahamas.
The Daily Wire also reported that the jet, valued at $2 million, hit trees and power lines as it went down, and that people nearby described the crash as sounding "like a missile," attributing that account to reporting by the New York Post.
