CNBC cited a memo warning of the political stakes tied to that race, stating "More than any other thing in this race, data centers are the anchor hanging around Husted's neck. If he loses and data centers get the blame, politicians across the country will take notice, and they will not go near the next one."1
The Daily Wire reported that a Gallup poll conducted in March found 71% of Americans opposed building a data center in their communities, including 75% of Democrats, 63% of Republicans, and 74% of independents.
